Stručná pravidla:

  • Posun časů: Present → Past, Past → Past Perfect, will → would, can → could
  • SAY vs TELL: say (that) / say to me → NIKDY „say me"! Tell VŽDY + předmět (tell me, tell him)
  • Nepřímé otázky: oznamovací slovosled! She asked where I lived. (ne where did I live)
  • Rozkazy: told/asked + somebody + TO do something

Kdy se časy neposunují:

  • Řídící sloveso v přítomném čase (He says he is tired.)
  • Věčné pravdy (The teacher said water boils at 100°C.)
